What length does my natural hair need to be to get extensions?

The length of your natural hair will determine the length of your extensions. Ideally, I recommend having shoulder length hair. Anything shorter creates more of a challenge when it comes to daily styling of your natural hair with your extensions. The most important thing is that you have enough hair to cover the track, or bonds of extensions. If you have extremely short layers, I suggest choosing a shorter length of extensions while your natural hair is growing out. In addition, adding in a half row of extensions allows for them to more seamlessly blend with your layers.

What is the investment?

Depending on your starting point and hair goals, your investment in extensions can vary from $1,000 - $3,000. After your complimentary consultation, I’ll be able to give you a more detailed quote for both the cost of the hair and estimated maintenance costs for your new mane. To schedule a consultation, get in touch with me by submitting an extension consultation request form to get on my books for a 1 on 1 consultation.

Are extensions high maintenance?

When it comes to everyday styling, most women (myself included) feel that they need fewer washes because extension hair can hold a style for days with minor touch ups. Depending on which method you choose, your extensions will need to be moved up every 6-10 weeks. These maintenance appointments include the removal of your extensions, a clarifying wash and blow dry of your natural hair, and the re-application of the extensions.

Will extensions damage my hair?

There are a lot of misconceptions about extensions being damaging to natural hair. When done properly, there are minimal points of contact between the wefts and your natural hair, resulting in little to no opportunity for damage. I have completed extensive training and continuously practice my skill to ensure an exceptional and consistent application every time.

Having worked with many different types of hair and numerous clients with different hair goals, I tailor each application to their individual hair type and lifestyle, so daily styling is effortless. Please note: at home care is crucial to maintain the integrity of both your natural hair and the extensions. I will show you how to properly care for your extensions and send you home with care instructions and product recommendations to set you up for success, so you leave feeling confident about your investment.

Is the hair reusable?

Yes, all extension hair is reusable as long you take care of it properly. This is heavily dependent on correct shampooing techniques, regular brushing, and using the appropriate salon quality products. Hair typically lasts 4-6 months, but when proper steps are followed, I’ve seen hair last 6-12 months with multiple applications in that time frame. After time, your bonds will begin to break down, in which case we can replace them weft for weft rather than purchasing all new hair.

What are hand tied extensions?

Hand Tied extensions are thin wefts of hair sewn together by hand. They are lightweight, comfortable, and seamless. Applied in a ‘U’ shape, the wefts are layered on top of each other and secured close to your head. Having completed extensive training in the Grace Hand Tied method, I sew each weft to a track that is created using your natural hair, beads, and string. This modern technique is extremely versatile when it comes to styling because the end result incorporates a smooth blend of hair that lays flat against the head and provides maximum comfort.
